Founder and President

My inspiration comes from my mom. The first year I was a classroom teacher, I would call my mom daily on the drive home. In response to my frustrations with challenging student behavior, she would say, “Think about Maslow. Are their basic needs met?” Based on what I knew about my students, the answer was generally, “No.” So I started Maslow’s Closet using DonorsChoose.org. I’m thrilled with how we have grown over the past seven years and excited for our future!

Secretary

When Chelsea first told me about her idea for Maslow’s Closet, I was on board to help however I could, not knowing I would end up on the board as secretary. Yet, I am not surprised to see Maslow’s Closet grow into a real life non-profit. I love doing good things with good people, and this is it.

Board Member at Large

I used to live in Monterrey, Mexico and was part of a non-profit which helps children and young people fight against cancer. We would collect toys, food, and clothes. Then I moved to Seattle with my husband Javier. Thanks to my dear friend Noah I met Chelsea and fell in love with her project. I’m so excited to find out what is next with Maslow’s Closet and the amazing team!
